It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honor of kings to search out a matter. (Proverbs 25:2)

One of God's Tools

Pastor Ken Lawrence - This is a song I wrote back in 2004 after seeing the movie The Passion of the Christ. In 2013 it was used in the movie In His Steps which I co-produced with my son, Zack Lawrence. It is sung by Laura Seabrook who also stars as Rachael Winslow in the movie. "Just The Brush"

When you see a great Picasso, D'Vinci, or Rembrandt
Do you ever sing the praises of their brush
It's the master of the masterpiece who deserves the praise
Not the paint they use of blue or green or blush

So don't praise me if I do something wonderful
Don't praise me, don't even make a fuss
Give glory to the Master, through His hands it was done
Don't praise me, I am just the brush

When you read the words of Shakespeare, Bunyan, or Thoreau
Do you ever glorify the pens they used
It's the author of the classic work who is glorified
Not the pen and ink and not the words they choose

So don't praise me if I do something wonderful
Don't praise me, don't even make a fuss
Give glory to the Master, through His hands it was done
Don't praise me, I am just the brush

It's easy to forget sometimes
And become legends in our minds
But we're just tools within His hands
Used to carry out His plans

So don't praise me if I do something wonderful
Don't praise me, don't even make a fuss
Give glory to the Master, through His hands it was done
Don't praise me, I am just the brush
Don't praise me, I am just the brush
Praise the Lord, I am just His brush
